Favorite Songs of 1987

In 1987, I turned 21 and bartending that year for an extra part time job. I worked during the day at an office job. President Reagan delivered his famous “Tear down this wall” speech in West Berlin, challenging Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to open up the Berlin Wall to increase Democracy. How times have changed. Now we have a president who desires to build walls, fortresses, prisons, and camps.

AZT was approved by the FDA to help combat HIV/Aids. In October, the stock market falls and it is later called Black Monday. Pope Paul II issues the encyclical Sollicitudo rei socialis (On Social Concern). Nikki Six of Motley Crue overdoses and is dead for 2 minutes. The debauchery of the hair bands is soon to end and usher in Grunge with it’s new form of debauchery.
